Insight TV announces new key appointments

December 4, 2017 12.58 Europe/London By Robert Briel

Insight TV has announced two key appointments. Newly hired Robert Gold has been appointed VP of distribution for the Americas and Jonathan Shrank, has been promoted to VP, distribution, EMEA, effective immediately.

Gold and Shrank bring a wealth of TV industry experience to their positions, specifically in sales, distribution, contract negotiation, and marketing. “Robert, and Jonathan have impressive backgrounds in the TV distribution lifecycle and their sales and marketing experience are exactly what we’re looking for. We know their ability to nurture business relationships and provide strong and effective leadership will help lay the groundwork for us to not only meet but exceed our goals next year and well into the future,” commented Rian Bester, CEO, Insight TV.

Prior to joining Insight TV, Shrank (pictured at the upper left) was a Senior Distribution and Business Development Manager at the BBC. Before that he led content acquisition for Globecast in New York, licensing linear and VOD content for OTT and Satellite platforms. He is based in London.

In his previous role, Gold was Senior Vice President of Distribution at Poker Central, a 24/7 linear channel startup where he managed distribution strategy, sales, marketing, and negotiating and securing the service with MVPDs, SVOD, and OTT providers. Before that he spent 22 years at Discovery Communications, where he served as Vice President of Domestic Distribution, National Accounts. He is based in Los Angeles.

“I’m delighted to join the talented and hardworking team at Insight TV, especially at a time when UHD programming is breaking ground as a game-changer in the industry,” explained Gold (pictured at the lower left).

“I’m looking forward to carving out a successful roadmap in the US so that Insight TV can remain at the forefront in delivering compelling, high-energy content across all mediums.”

Shrank added, “I’m looking forward to ensuring that our customers are aware of the value that we offer, especially with the advent of recent technologies like IP, which broadcasters and media organisations are beginning to embrace. Bringing Insight TV’s lineup of exciting and thrilling content to more platforms will allow more viewers to be kept on the edge of their seats.”
