The Russian OTT service Ivi has been awarded R12.1 million (€174,000) by the Moscow Arbitration Court in a case involving the film distribution company Paradis.
According to RNS and AKTR, Ivi filed a lawsuit against Paradis in June concerning package of films that was paid for in 2011 but only received recently.
The court decided to return the money to Ivi and also impose a fine on Paradis.
Although the initial claim was for R10.5 million, it was eventually increased to R12.1 million. Paradis insists it fulfilled its obligations and will appeal against the decision.
All the films, produced in the US, were specified in the contract between the two parties.
Twenty-two had still not been provided by April 2016 and only seven by the end of last year.
Paradis has been operating in the market since 1992, with film distribution one of its main activities.
