German IPTV platform waipu.tv will enable TV viewers in collaboration with Amazon to directly order products out of a commercial for the first time.
The offer which will initially be available to users of the Amazon Fire TV app will be tested in a trial with several TV channels and different products from November 2017. The first partners are RTL’s advertising sales subsidiary IP Deutschland and cosmetics company L’Oréal.
While the commercial is shown on TV, a shopping button will appear on the TV screen referring to the respective product. With a click on the Amazon Fire TV remote control, the user can directly jump to the product page of the advertised article on Amazon to obtain further information and order the product.
