Netflix and Deutsche Telekom have formed a far-reaching partnership bringing the streaming service to the screens of all international subsidiaries of the German telco.
The global agreement builds on the existing cooperation between Telekom and Netflix in Germany, the Netherlands and Poland.
“We want to ensure the best content offering and TV experience for our customers and will work with Netflix to further expand our great partnership,” said Thomas Kicker, Senior Vice President Group Partnering of Deutsche Telekom.
Maria Ferreras, Vice President Business Development EMEA at Netflix, added: “This partnership builds on our already strong relationship with Deutsche Telekom. We are thrilled to open a new world of exclusive and critically-acclaimed entertainment for millions of Deutsche Telekom’s TV and mobile customers in Europe.”
Since October 2017, the customers of Deutsche Telekom’s German IPTV platform Entertain TV have been able to directly access Netflix content in 4K on the Entertain TV set-top-box.
In Poland, Netflix has been available as part of T-Mobile offers since 2016.
Recently, Netflix and Deutsche Telekom launched a new offer where T-Mobile Netherlands combines its Unlimited data service with a Netflix promotion giving customers 6 months free access to Netflix.
Additionally, Deutsche Telekom’s customers in Germany, Poland, Croatia, Greece and Romania benefit from unlimited streaming of Netflix over mobile networks with the participation of the US company in the respective zero-rating services (StreamOn).
