AMC Studios has signed a global output deal with Amazon Prime Video.
The agreement with the production arm of AMC covers 28 territories including Australia, Germany, Italy, India, and Japan. It’s not known if this includes the UK, where AMC has a separate agreement with BT TV.
Amazon gains an exclusive first window that puts it first in line ahead of other streaming services, pay-TV platforms or broadcast services.
Rick Olshansky, President, business operations, AMC Studios, said: “AMC Studios and Amazon already enjoy a successful programming partnership. This agreement underscores the high global demand for AMC’s must-have content and franchises and enables us to bring our popular shows to a wide global audience.”
“This is another step in our efforts to extend the selection of premium TV shows available to Prime Video members worldwide,” added Brad Beale, vice president of content acquisition, Amazon Prime Video.
Ridley Scott’s The Terror (pictured) is the first title to be included.
Earlier series produced by AMC Studios include Fear the Walking Dead, Preacher and Halt and Catch Fire.
