The Hungarian national transmission company Antenna Hungária (AH) has launched a new standalone OTT sports service.
Speaking exclusively to Broadband TV News at the OTTtv World Summit, Henrik Schneider, director of broadcast and media services division, AH, said that MindiGO Sport is the first standalone OTT product from the company, the first OTT product (not standalone) being MindiGO TV, which made its debut in September.
He added that AH found that although high profile sports events were offered by a number of companies including MTVA, AMC and Discovery, there was a whole niche of niche sports that they did not cover. They included esports and extreme sports.
Schneider also said that MindiGO Sport consists of two pillars, the first being free access and second paid content. The latter, which costs around €5 a month to receive, includes a number of channels from (amongst others) SPI.
MindiGO Sport also has catch-up and VOD in its offer.
