Kino Polska’s sales revenues from continuing operations grew by 8% in the year to September 30, boosted by FilmBox and other thematic channels.
The latest results published by the company show that its sales revenues in the first nine months of 2017 amounted to PLN89,025,000 (€20,914,000).
Although these channels accounted for only PLN4,542,000 of the total, this was 9% more than a year earlier.
Kino Polska notes that the thematic channel segment performed particularly well in Slovakia, the Czech Republic (more subscribers), Romania (improved offer and more subscribers), Bulgaria, countries of the former Yugoslavia and the Baltic Republics.
On the other hand, revenues from Kino Polska branded channels fell by 8% in the year to September 30 due to lower ad spend. Kino Polska also notes that EBITDA fell by 9% year-on-year to PLN32,393,000 and net profit from continuing operations by 12% to PN9,979,000.
According to the company, this was principally due to the costs associated with the recently launched channel Zoom TV, which has yet to break even.
