The Polish DTH platform nc+ has become the first broadcaster in the country to offer its subscribers sports coverage in Ultra HD.
According to the company, this follows the introduction of its 4K UltraBOX+, which from this month will allow viewers to watch games from the UEFA Champions League and the Premier League in the 4K standard.
The first game to be shown in Ultra HD will be Borussia Dortmund v Tottenham Hotspur in the Champions League on November 21.
The 4K UltraBOX+ will also give viewers access the platform’s VOD and nc+ GO TV services, which contain 12,000 films, serials and on demand programmes.
It has a 1TB hard disk allowing for 600 hours of recording and its functions include multi-recording and fast zapping.
The 4K UltraBOX+ is powered by software developed by ADB, which is a long-time partner of nc+.
Together, they introduced HD services into the Polish market over 10 years ago.
