ProSiebenSat.1 and Unitymedia sign new carriage deal

November 6, 2017 13.26 Europe/London By Jörn Krieger

German broadcast group ProSiebenSat.1 Media and cable operator Unitymedia have concluded a long-term distribution agreement.

The contract covers distribution of all of ProSiebenSat.1’s free-TV, pay-TV, HD and video-on-demand services, securing a reach of 6.4 million households on Unitymedia’s cable network.

The agreement comprises Sat.1, ProSieben, kabel eins, sixx, Sat.1 Gold, ProSieben Maxx and kabel eins Doku. The pay-TV channels ProSieben Fun, Sat.1 emotions and kabel eins Classics are also distributed via Unitymedia, two of them also in HD quality.

Programmes from ProSiebenSat.1’s channels will continue to be made available on-demand on Unitymedia’s video library, both at home and on the go using a smartphone or tablet.

In future, pay-TV customers will have access to more content including entire seasons of a series. The agreement also enables additional interactive services such restart TV.
