Viacom International Media Networks (VIMN) is to launch Nick Jr in the Portuguese market.
The new channel will be available exclusively through telco NOS. Nick Jr, which goes live on Thursday will target two-to-six year olds and will include content including Petroleum Pete and Dora the Explorer to its young viewers.
“This reinforcing of NOS’s offering for young viewers is another step towards providing the content that our customers request most and more evidence of the company’s commitment to provide exclusive and differentiated entertainment offerings on all screens,” said Alexandre Martins, director of fixed products at NOS.
“We are very excited about Nick Jr’s arrival in Portugal. Being able to extend the Nickeoldeon offering, involving, stimulating and accompanying our audience from the age of two is of great importance to us. We know how much this audience loves our globally successful content, so having it on our channel with new and exclusive seasons, will be fantastic,” added Victor Mourão, Vice President (VP) and General Manager (GM) of MTV and Nickelodeon Portugal.
Nick Jr will broadcast on channel 46.
