Mixed fortunes for Orange Polska

October 27, 2017 00.07 Europe/London By Chris Dziadul

The Polish incumbent Orange Polska ended the third quarter with 814,000 TV customers, or 7% more than in the same period last year.

Net additions in the quarter were 22,000.

Meanwhile, the number of convergent customers in Q3 stood at 1,195,000, or 61.9% more than a year earlier.

The company fibre customer base was 176,000, with 31,000 net adds in the third quarter and a service adoption rate of 8%.

Orange Polska’s revenues in Q3 were PLN2,814 million (€663.2 million, -1.3%), its EBITDA PLN776 million (-6.6%) and net income PLN28 (-24.3%).

In his comments on the results, Jean-François Fallacher, Orange Polska’s CEO, said: “One of our key Orange.one priorities is improvement on the pay-TV market. I am very pleased that total net additions in TV in Q3 were the highest in more than five years. In IPTV technology, our customer base is up 41% year-on-year. At the same time, we continue to improve the adoption rate in our fibre network. In the first nine months of this year we have already doubled our customer base – and the best period of the year is still in front of us”.
