Paid-for Russian OTT services now obtain between 10-15% of their revenues from the screening of Russian movies.
However, reports Kommersant, in the case of ad-funded OTT services the figure already exceeds the share of Russian films in traditional film distribution.
In the case of Okko, the service has already acquired 15% more Russian content this year than in 2016. Sales of Russian films between January-September provided in with 15% and 10% of revenues on the EST and TVOD models respectively.
Meanwhile, for Megogo revenues from Russian movies account for 20% of the total.
Ivi, on the other hand, now sees around 50% of its revenues derived from domestic content. While Russian films make up 30% of its entire library, they account for 50% of views.
