German public broadcasters ARD and ZDF will continue to screen the international matches of Germany’s national football team.
SportA, the sports rights agency ARD and ZDF, has reached an agreement with European football association UEFA regarding 12 international matches between 2018 and 2022.
The contract of which financial details have not been disclosed covers the games of the German team in the newly created UEFA Nations League which will replace the previous friendly matches.
The draw for the group phase on January 24 2018 will determine which football nations are to be competed against in the upcoming 2018/19 season. The national teams from the UK, Italy, Spain, France and Portugal are among the participating countries.
The agreement with UEFA also covers radio coverage of all matches of the German team, including the qualifying matches of the FIFA World Cup and the UEFA European Championship in the period up to 2022.
