Magine TV streams ProSiebenSat.1 channels in HD

October 24, 2017 15.19 Europe/London By Jörn Krieger

Marking a breakthrough in the German OTT market, the free-to-air channels of one of the two large commercial TV groups are now available in HD quality through the open internet.

Magine TV has commenced offering the live-streams of Sat.1, ProSieben, kabel eins, Sat.1 Gold, sixx and ProSieben Maxx in HD resolution (1080p/25).

The ProSiebenSat.1 HD channels form part of subscription package Comfort HD (formerly Basic) for the unchanged monthly price of €10, containing more than 50 free-to-air channels, over 30 in HD quality.

The larger bouquet Deluxe HD (formerly Premium) comprises – including the ProSiebenSat.1 HD channels – around 70 free-to-air and pay-TV channels, over 40 in HD quality, for the unchanged price of €20 per month.

Furthermore, documentary channel kabel eins Doku has been added to both packages.

The Free package containing 30 channels has also been upgraded: While the public channels have previously only been available in HD quality to paying Magine TV subscribers, they are now accessible by all Magine TV users free of charge and without additional advertising, equalling better streaming quality than most of the channels’ own streaming services, according to Magine TV.

The Free line-up in HD contains Das Erste (ARD), ZDF, NDR, WDR, MDR, BR, SWR, RBB, hr, SR, Radio Bremen TV, ZDFneo, ZDFinfo, One, tagesschau24, KiKA, Arte and 3sat.

As part of an introductory special, Magine TV currently offers Comfort HD for three months for the price of one month. All subscriptions can be cancelled monthly.
