The Czech incumbent’s O2 TV service ended the third quarter with a combined total of 230,000 IPTV and OTT subscribers, or 4.5% more than in the corresponding period last year.
At the same time, its complementary service Multi, which allows viewers to watch TV on more than one set at a time, continued to grow in popularity, claiming 35,000 customers.
As a result, there were a total of nearly 265,000 active set-top box accessing O2’s TV services at the end of September.
O2 notes that more customers are also watching O2 TV Sport, which costs CZK69 (€2.69) for 24-hour access. O2 TV Sport can in addition be accessed via the O2 TV free channels, which is available terrestrially through an HbbTV application.
A recent derby football match between Slavia and Sparta was watched by 239,000 O2 TV Sport viewers.
O2 had consolidated revenues of CZK27.9 billion (+0.6%) in the first nine months of this year, while its net profit grew by 2.5% to CZK4.1 billion.
