Four employees of the Russian regulator Roskomnadzor have been charged with fraud.
According to The Moscow Times, they include Vadim Ampelonsky, the company’s spokesman, and Boris Yedidin, the head of its legal department.
Both have been placed under house arrest by the Chertanovsky Court of Moscow until November 7.
Roskomnadzor was established in 2008, with its remit being to overseeing the media, including the internet.
To date, it has blocked over 82,000 websites.
