Swedish cablenet Com Hem has seen a rise of 36 per cent in revenues for the third quarter.
The company has seen the number of unique subscribers climb to a record high of 972,000. There’s a continued strong demand for broadband services, which grew by 12,000 to another record high of 736,000 RGUs, while digital TV subs were up 6,000 to 651,000.
TiVo is now available in 40 per cent of digital TV homes.
The picture at pay-DTT service Boxer was not so good with the loss of 6,000 subscribers compared to 5,000 in the previous quarter.
Anders Nilsson, CEO, Com Hem Group said he expected the DTT churn to continue for a while longer. “In the fourth quarter we expect a temporary increase in churn due to migration of the 700MHz band as well as seasonal effects of both competitor fibre rollout and expiration of binding periods across the customer base.”
Boxer can now reach 1,000,000 addressable households including all of the Com Hem Segment’s current fibre footprint as well as 250,000 SDU households unique to Boxer.
Although Com Hem has managed to grow Boxer’s profits amid declining revenue, Nilsson said he was optimistic of being able stop the revenue decline as the Boxer brand gained traction as a broadband-led TV operator.
