MIPCOM 2017 – CANNES. Canneseries, the world’s first festival dedicated to TV series, will have its inaugural run alongside MIP 2018, April 4 – 11, 2018.
The festival claims to offer ‘the biggest week in global TV’, and has the support of the city of Cannes and Reed-MIDEM, the organisers of MIP-TV. It is an initiative of director general Benoit Louvet and artistic director Albin Lewi.
The event will feature public screenings, an international competition, a focus on digital content and a two-day forum called In Development, which will be organised with MIPTV.
The competition will focus, evidently, on TV series, where the best ten series produced worldwide, will be chosen. A special awards evening at the Lumiere theatre at the Palais de Festivals will close the event, and will be broadcast live by Canal+.
At the same time, the Canneseries Institute will be created, in partnership with Canal+ Group, Serial Eyes, University de Cannes and the city of Cannes.
