AMC appoints Balázs Hajós as VP of Affiliate Sales

October 16, 2017 00.26 Europe/London By Robert Briel

MIPCOM 2017 – CANNES, AMC Networks International, Central and Northern Europe, has promoted Balázs Hajós to Vice President of Affiliate Sales.

In his new and expanded role, Hajós will oversee the management of AMCNI – Central and Northern Europe’s affiliate sales in more than 30 territories.

Hajós’ current responsibilities will be expanded to include oversight of the entire region’s affiliate sales activities, including all sales activity for the networks’ portfolio in the Baltic States, Russia, Ukraine and members of the Commonwealth of Independent States.

Hajós will be responsible for the distribution and revenues of over 30 territories and 15 channel brands, in addition to developing key accounts and collaborating with the senior management team on overarching strategic distribution plans.

Most recently Hajós served as Regional Director of Affiliate Sales of AMCNI’s Budapest-based regional office, where he oversaw development of new distribution opportunities and formulated innovative business development strategies for the organization.

Hajós will continue to be based in Budapest, headquarters of the Central and Northern European business unit of AMCNI. Later this year, the Budapest office will also be responsible for the global management of JimJam, the Pan-European feed of SundanceTV and the Russian AMC and MGM feeds.

Hajós has been with the company since 2007. As Regional Director of Affiliate Sales, he took an active part in widening the company’s channel portfolio in Central and Eastern Europe. Following the launch of Minimax in Hungary, Hajós – who served as a board member – led the further development and distribution of Minimax in the region, making it the top children’s television brand in 12 countries.

His professional career in the broadcast media began in 2000, as head of the Central European markets within the Canal+ Group. Hajós holds a BA in law and is a graduate of the Sorbonne University in postgraduate media law and media economics studies.
