Romania’s Competition Council has approved a transaction involving UPC and Huawei Technologies.
In a statement, the regulator says that under the agreement between the two parties Huawei will take over the personnel and assets of UPC Romania for the provision of maintenance services for land-based public communications networks with fixed access in Romania.
It adds that it found that the activities of the companies do not overlap in the country, and as a result the operation does not raise significant barriers to competition.
