CNN can continue to operate in Russia now that it has removed violations that were revealed by the regulator Roskomnadzor.
However, quoted by Vedomosti and Interfax, Roskomnadzor’s head of department Alexander Zharov added that it would “continue monitoring the compliance of the US company’s activities with Russian legislation”.
Zharov said on September 29 that CNN had received an administrative warning because of an incorrect indication of its output on the air.
It was subsequently given until October 11 to eliminate the violations or face being suspended.
