Dutch cable operator Caiway is the first in the country to launch a ‘internet only’ subscription without the requirement to take a basic TV package.
Until now, traditional cable TV operators are selling their broadband access and fixed telephony services only together with a basic TV subscription.
By offering internet access only, Caiway subscribers are now free to choose any OTT live streaming provider, such as KPN Play or T-Mobile’s Knippr.
Caiway serves around 325,000 homes.
The internet-ony subscription costs €39.95 a month and offers broadband speed of 150 Mbit/s. There is a one-time only sign-up fee of €19.95, a Wi-Fi router costs €49.95 and a “safe internet’ security service costs and additional €2.50 per month.
