There are now over 1.3 million HbbTV users in the Czech Republic.
Quoting an exact figure of 1,325,567 from its own research, the national commercial broadcaster FTV Prima says that the popularity of hybrid TV is growing.
The traffic for its own HbbTV service has increased by 91% and use of the archive by 136% year-on-year.
FTV Prima notes that interest is growing not only in watching TV shows in HbbTV, but also in advertising campaigns.
In the first eight months of this year, over 90 campaigns were running on Prima channels, compared to 41 in the whole of 2016.
HbbTV has ranked among the standard marketing communication tools for many clients this year.
It also says that from a socio-economic point of view, more than half of HbbTV users are men (52%), while the 25-54 age group (58%) is the most represented.
HbbTV users are usually highly educated and come from the highest socio-economic class.
