Vodafone plans to focus more on video services in Romania and may launch its own TV operation, according to Murielle Lorilloux, the company’s local CEO.
Quoted by Business Review, speaking to a group of journalists, she said that it will offer content on demand to homes.
However, she did not specify clearly if it will sign new deals with streaming platforms – it already has two key ones with Netflix and HBO in place – or indeed launch its own TV service.
Lorilloux said that Vodafone Romania would increase its headcount, which currently stands at around 2,500, and implement a new business strategy based on three pillars.
These will be big data; expansion into the home, including more video services; and digital.
