The Ukrainian National Council has decided to hold a tender for local and regional broadcasting on the country’s MX-5 multiplex.
In a statement, it says that an announcement will be published shortly in the newspaper Voice of Ukraine. MX-5 is a DVB-T2 (MPEG-4) multiplex operated by Zeonbud. It has a total of 120 vacancies for broadcasting slots in 85 locations throughout the country.
Commenting on the tender, Oleksandr Ilyashenko, the National Council executive secretary, said that there is now an understanding that MX-5 can be filled.
It is also felt the tender is timely following the decision for Ukraine to complete its analogue switch off in March 2018.
