The Lithuanian Radio and Television Commission (LRTK) has decided to restrict the free reception of the Russian channel for a period of six months.
In a statement, the regulator says the decision will come into force upon once it is approved by the Vilnius Regional Administrative Court.
As previously reported by Broadband TV News, the LRTK determined that TVCI, which is the international version of the Russian channel TVC, violated Lithuanian law in a programme it broadcast in June this year.
Earlier this week, Alexei Guscin, the development director at TVCI, presented additional arguments in the broadcaster’s favour that were no different to those offered on September 6, when TVCI refused to recognise the violations.
