The DVB is currently working more closely with the HbbTV Association on testing and promoting HbbTV, said Harmonic’s Thieryy Fautier, chairman targeted advertising study mission group DVB.
With regards to targeted advertising Fautier said that in mid-2018 the commercial module will be ready, after which work on specifications will start and a technical module will be created after which it will become a market reality in 2020.
As chairman of the Adaptive bitrare multicast commercial group, Fautier said that the DVB is now working on the specs and a technical module, so an ABR Mulitcast solution will be a market reality in 2018.
