Eutelsat’s Sat.tv app can now be accessed directly through connected TVs.
The smart programme guide, already available through tablets and smart phones, uses the HbbTV standard. It helps viewers navigate through the Hotbird neighbourhood at 13 degrees East and will later be extended to cover the 7/8 degrees West neighbourhood.
Launched in April 2016 the original app is free to download on the Apple App Store and Google Play Store. It currently covers some 400 free-to-air channels broadcast from the two Eutelsat hubs.
The user-friendly interface, available in five languages (English, French, Russian, Italian and Arabic), allows viewers to access full details of the programmes of their choice in almost 40 languages.
By recording their individual preferences, viewers can receive their own personalised recommendations.
