Tivù has entered into a partnership with Yotta Media Labs to develop an HbbTV Operator Application for Italy’s FTA satellite and terrestrial market.
Commenting on the development, Alberto Sigismondi, CEO of Tivù, said: “We have been working, since Tivù’s foundation, with the main TV and STB manufacturers operating in the Italian market for our multiplatform services like tivùsat (DTH), tivùon (OTT) and DGTVi certifications.
“Now we believe that thanks to the Operator Application we have a unique opportunity to get to the highest level of customer satisfaction and user experience. That is why we aim to integrate Operator Applications into the next generation of devices from 2018 onwards”.
Tivù, in collaboration with the Free TV Alliance, have participated in the inception and development of the HbbTV draft Operator Application specification.
Tivù, Yotta Media Labs,and the Free TV Alliance are fully committed to the future of Operator Applications and to the creation of a common standard for Free-To-View satellite TV services and technologies across Europe for the benefit of viewers, manufacturers and broadcasters.
