SERAPHIC and IRT to demo HbbTV 2

September 14, 2017 13.59 Europe/London By Chris Dziadul

SERAPHIC has entered into a partnership with IRT, a neutral research and competence centre for audiovisual technologies.

They will showcase the latest HbbTV 2 technologies including Companion Screen, Media Synchronization, TTML Subtitle, DVB DASH, etc. at IBC 2017.

The release of the integrated HbbTV 2 technologies will enable device manufacturers to provide their end consumers an access to more engaging viewing experience and richer OTT content.

According to Ye Wang, CEO at SERAPHIC, “HbbTV has for many years led the way in setting standards that enable truly engaging television experiences, and SERAPHIC has been delighted to participate for many years as an active member in this association. We are proud to be one of the earliest HbbTV2 solution providers. Based on powerful Blink engine, SERAPHIC’s browser is able to provide complete feature support for the latest HbbTV 2 technologies.”

Klaus Merkel, HbbTV project coordinator at IRT, added: “IRT is always keeping an eye on the industry trend and aims at developing novel services for connected TVs. We are excited to cooperate with SERAPHIC integrating the latest features for HbbTV 2 into connected devices, positioning HbbTV 2 at the forefront of digital TV technology.”

SERAPHIC will be at N12, Hall 14 and IRT at 10.F 51 at IBC 2017.
