Magine TV launches on Sony PlayStation

September 14, 2017 20.48 Europe/London By Jörn Krieger

Magine TV is the first live TV service on Sony PlayStation in Germany.

The users of the PlayStation 4/PS 4 Pro can now watch TV channels like Das Erste, ZDF, RTL, Sat.1, ProSieben and VOX through the games console. The TV live-streams complement the video-on-demand and music streaming services already available on the console.

“We are very pleased to be able to offer PlayStation’s large community in Germany great live TV content directly from the PlayStation 4 console,” said Ambuj Goyal, CEO of Magine. “We hope that this partnership with Sony PlayStation in Germany will be the start of a long successful relationship also in other countries using Magine’s global video platform.”

With the Magine TV app available for download on the PlayStation Store, 28 channels can be watched free of charge. Further channels are offered in three subscription packages: Basic comprises all major German free-to-air channels like RTL, Sat.1, ProSieben and VOX – 37 channels in total, 20 of them in HD quality – for €10 per month.

An exclusive offer for PlayStation Plus members is Basic Plus. The bouquet contains all major free-to-air channels plus pay-TV channels Sony Channel, AXN HD, ProSieben Fun, kabel eins Classics, Sat.1 Emotions, GINX, auto motor und sport channel, Motorsport.tv and wetter.com – a total of 46 channels, 29 of them in HD quality – for also €10 per month.

The largest package, Premium, comprises all major free-to-air channels as well as pay-TV channels such as TNT Film, Sony Channel, Universal Channel HD, AXN HD, Silverline TV HD and E! Entertainment – 79 channels in total, over 30 in HD quality – for €20 per month.

All subscription packages can be tested free of charge for 7 days. The subscriptions can be cancelled monthly.
