The Polish public broadcaster TVP has entered into a video distribution agreement with the national news agency PAP.
Speaking in a press conference, Artur Dmochowski, the president of PAP, said that two parties would show that technological, editorial and business synergies are possible and would bring benefits. Costs would be reduced and ultimately the whole media market would benefit.
Maciej Stanecki, a member of the board at TVP, added that the broadcaster would provide PAP clients with several dozen items daily and over a thousand each month. They will include clips from news, information, lifestyle and sports programmes, some of which would be from TVP’s regional services.
In a separate development, TVP has secured the rights to the Champions League for this season from the DTH platform nc+ on a sub-licensed basis.
