Telekom Romania has adopted the new brand name Telekom Sport for its sports coverage.
Quoting a statement by the company, Mediafax reports that Telekom Sport covers a whole package of premium competitions. In football, they include the Champions League, Europa League, Liga 1, La Liga, Premier League and the cup competitions in England, Germany and France. Alongside these are racing competitions, including Formula 1; NFL, NBA and NHL; rugby; and ATP circuit tournaments.
It also says that Telekom Sport’s TV channels can be received with the Telekom TV service, Telekom TV Web & Mobile and the mobile app Telekom TV.
At present the company operates six linear channels (1-6), along with four Telekom Sport Online channels that are available through the Telekom TV app.
Commenting on the change, Miroslav Majoros, CEO of Telekom Romania, said: “Both sports content exclusivity and Telekom’s newly launched commercial offers have positioned us this year as one of the most important players on this market. Telekom Sport will bring together the names and values of a strong local and international brand”.
Vlad Enachescu, general manager of Telekom Sport, added: “We are looking to continue to offer as many hours of live-action sports as possible. We want to simplify communication about sports content and to combine as much as possible with the Telekom brand and thus to strengthen the differentiator of Telekom’s offer on the Romanian market”.
Prior to the change, Telekom Romania used the brand Dolce for its sports coverage.
