Austrian cable operator UPC has converted Vienna and surroundings as the last region to a fully digital TV service, thereby completing the analogue switch-off it commenced across its network in April 2016.
“I’m happy that the switchover took place quickly and without complications in every region,” said Gerald Schwanzer, Vice President Consumer Marketing at UPC.
The vacated capacity will mainly be used for the expansion of broadband internet services.
With the latest move, UPC’s parent company Liberty Global has completed analogue switch-off in Germany, Austria and Switzerland.
