German TV broadcaster Sport1 will bring its sports radio station Sport1.fm back on air.
“On Sport1.fm, formats from the Sport1 world will soon be made available including Der Check24 Doppelpass and Fantalk,” a Sport1 spokesman confirmed to Broadband TV News. “The live transmissions of the UEFA Europa League will also be part of Sport1.fm.”
The Sport1.fm app is available free of charge for smartphones and tablets with the operating systems iOS and Android. The radio service’s exact return date will soon be announced.
Sport1 closed down Sport1.fm on June 1, 2017 to reassess the channel’s concept. The reason for the move was the loss of the Bundesliga audio broadcast rights to Amazon. The internet company has been transmitting the matches live on Amazon Prime and Amazon Music Unlimited since the beginning of this season.
[UPDATE] September 12, 2017, 13.00 CET Sport1.fm will launch today at 20.00 CET with the live show Fantalk XXL discussing the return of the UEFA Champions League.
