Norway’s largest cable TV distributor will finally switch off its analogue signals this month.
Canal Digital is finally calling time on the service that is still taken by 100,000 households.
The precise number is not known and it’s anticipated that the majority of those affected will be households where the analogue signal has been used on a second set.
The freed capacity will be used to extend broadband and high definition services.
Canal Digital has been working to inform customers about the switch-off and has called on children and grandchildren to check whether their loved ones have received the necessary information about upgrading to digital.
Many of those affected are thought to live in housing cooperatives or public housing.
