Fox Networks to launch FOX+ in Germany

September 1, 2017 15.49 Europe/London By Jörn Krieger

Fox Networks Group Europe & Africa will launch its video-on-demand service FOX+ in Germany on October 4, 2017.

The first distribution partner is Deutsche Telekom’s IPTV platform Entertain TV whose customers will be able to use the new service free of charge.

FOX+ shows complete seasons of series from 21st Century Fox including current productions like The Walking Dead, Empire and Graceland as well as classics such as How I Met Your Mother and Buffy, the Vampire Slayer. Further titles will be added in the next months, for example Bones and Futurama.

“Our strategy to extend the FOX brand into the nonlinear space and deliver a premium, on demand entertainment service with world class content is resonating with both our affiliate partners and consumers,” said Diego Londono, Chief Operating Officer of Fox Networks Group Europe & Africa. “As we bring FOX+ to another key territory, the results we are seeing from the product are surpassing our expectations, and we’re thrilled to be partnering with Deutsche Telekom, the leading telco in the region, for our debut in Germany.”

Germany will be the seventh market to offer FOX+ to customers after deals in France, Sweden, Norway, Denmark, Finland and Greece, with more markets to follow before the end of the year.

In German-speaking Europe, Fox Networks Group operates pay-TV channels Fox, National Geographic, Nat Geo Wild, Nat Geo People and Baby TV.
