Russia’s MTS enjoyed modest growth in its pay-TV subscriber total in the year to June 30.
In its home market it stood at 2,775,000 as of the end of Q2, up from 2,750,000 in the same period in 2016.
MTS also has 2,907,000 (2,720,000) internet and 3,291,000 (3,439,000) fixed-line telephony customers at the end of the second quarter.
Meanwhile, the company’s Moscow subsidiary MGTS had 1,782,000 GPON customers as of June 30, up from 1,620,000 a year earlier.
In its latest set of results MTS notes that its share of Moscow’s pay-TV market as of June 30 was 33%.
It also claimed a 36.5% share of the city’s broadband market.
MTS group’s revenues in Q2 amounted to R106.8 billion (€1.53 billion), or 0.7% more than in the same period last year.
OIBDA was R44 billion (+8.2%) and the profit attributable to the company’s owners R14.7 billion (+62.6%).
