The market for traditional consumer electronics is growing in Germany this year.
The total turnover with devices such as TV sets, digital cameras, audio devices or games consoles is expected to rise in 2017 by 2.6% to €9.44 billion, according to a market prognosis compiled by research company GfK on behalf of industry association Bitkom.
TV sets remain the most important segment of traditional consumer electronics taking a share of 44% of the total turnover.
More than 7 million TV sets are expected to be sold this year (+2.4%) with turnover increasing by 4.3% to €4.18 billion. In total, buyers spend €595 on a flat-screen TV set, in 2015 it was only €578.
