The Polish public broadcaster TVP has received a loan of PLN800 million (€190m) from the country’s National Treasury.
Super Express reports that it was notified by the Ministry of Culture that an agreement between the two parties was reached on July 21.
The loan, which has been obtained at market rates, will be provided to TVP in tranches and used for developing the broadcaster’s online content.
Although TVP had revenues of PLN872 million from advertising and PLN365.5 million from receiver licence fees, these were considered inadequate for its needs.
