The Polish broadcaster TVN has sold its shopping channel Mango Media, the operator of the teleshopping channel Mango 24 to Studio Moderna Polska for an undisclosed fee.
According to a statement by TVN, the sale was concluded after months of negotiations between the two parties. It has also received the approval of the country’s Office of Competition and Consumer Protection (UOKiK).
Quoting Jim Samples, president of CEO of TVN, it adds that the sale will allow the broadcaster, which is owned by Scripps Networks Interactive, to consolidate its portfolio and focus on the development of its core business.
Mango 24 was launched in 2002 and acquired by TVN 10 years ago.
Studio Moderna Polska is part of Studio Moderna, which has a presence in 21 countries in Central and Eastern Europe, operating 24-hour shopping channels in Russia, Ukraine and Romania.
