Austrian cable operator UPC will complete analogue switch-off in late summer 2017 with the transition currently underway in its largest customer region Vienna.
UPC commenced analogue switch-off in April 2016. Liberty Global’s other subsidiaries in German-speaking Europe, UPC in Switzerland and Unitymedia in Germany, completed analogue switch-off in July 2015 and July 2017 respectively.
UPC increased its turnover in Austria in Q2 2017 by 2.3% to €87.4 million compared with the same period last year.
The number of customers rose by 13,000 to 1.47 million. More than 115,000 customers use the new cable router Connect Box.
UPC wants to roll out the Replay TV function it made available on the Horizon Go app in April 2017 to the Horizon recorder later this year.
