Ginx Esports TV secures Dota 2 championship rights

Ginx Esports TV has secured global tv rights to The International Dota 2 Championships 2017.

The International Dota 2 Championships 2017 will run from August 7 through August 12 and will be held again at the KeyArena in Seattle. Six teams have direct invites, while another 12 come in via qualifiers from the Americas, Southeast Asia, Europe and China. There will be 16 teams competing in the main event.

The International Dota 2 Championships is the premier event in the esports calendar and this year’s prize pool sets an esports record. 2017 has already seen the pool rise above $23 million. It has also set a record for the most lucrative tournament in esports history.

Dota 2 is a free-to-play online action strategy game developed and published by Valve. It was released in July 2013. Dota 2 is played in matches between two teams of five players, with each team occupying and defending their own separate base on a map. There have been over 12 million unique players in the past month.

Ginx Esports TV is available across the globe and currently reaches esports fans in 46 million payTV homes. `it will be providing live coverage of the Dota 2 International, with complimentary content provided by its production team on the ground in Seattle as well as by dedicated features in key shows on the channel like The Bridge and The Daily Download.
