Ten years after the launch of OutTV, the lifestyle TV channel introduces a new interactive television platform for the European LGBT community.
With this new service, the OutTV community can watch all movies and series whenever and wherever they want. The new platform will launch in September.
Unlike a SVOD service like Netflix, the OutTV platform becomes interactive so users can connect and share information. Eventually, the service is expanded with new features. Unique is that the platform can match users based on viewing behaviour, interests and physical characteristics. With this, OutTV combines the first TV content with elements of popular dating apps (like Grindr and Tinder) and social media data.
After a two-year and intensive testing phase, OutTV will shape the further development of this unique TV platform with its users. The first users get ownership of the agenda for developing new functionalities and control which new TV shows or formats should be developed or purchased.
OutTV is a Netherlands-based television channel which can be viewed via cable and IPTV as a premium channel in the Netherlands, Belgium and Sweden. In Germany, OutTV is currently available on Netcologne. For viewers in Germany, Austria and Switzerland OutTV programming is also available on the OutTV Pro app (in beta version) for smart phones, tablets and smart TVs.
