Deutsche Telekom reaches 3 million IPTV customers

August 3, 2017 08.16 Europe/London By Jörn Krieger

Entertain, the domestic IPTV platform operated by German telco Deutsche Telekom, has exceeded the 3 million customer mark in Q2 2017.

69,000 new subscribers were added – more than in Q2 2016 in which 41,000 new customers were acquired.

In total, Entertain had 3.024 million customers on June 30, 2017 – an increase by 9% within the past 12 months.

Deutsche Telekom’s TV offer increasingly develops into a serious competitor to Sky Deutschland. The pay-TV broadcaster recently reached the 5 million subscriber mark.

Deutsche Telekom’s number of broadband customers rose by 46,000 to around 13 million in Q2 2017 of which more than 5 million have a fibre-optic connection (FTTX, VDSL, vectoring).
