The Russian cable operator ER Telecom has filed applications with the country’s Federal Antimonopoly Service (FAS) to buy six telcos.
Comnews reports that they are located in the Tomsk and Irkutsk regions and members of Strela Telecom, which is owned by the Cyprus-registered company Elbrus Capital Investments Ltd. It is believed the total value of the telcos is around R816 million (€11.7 million).
Strela Telecom is a group of companies that offer cable TV and broadband services. They are based in cities in Siberia and the Far East of Russia with populations of up to 600,000.
It is estimated that the acquisition of the six telcos will allow ER Telecom to grow its revenues by 4%.
Earlier this year, it acquired 100% of Novotelecom, the largest provider in Novosibirsk.
