Universal Electronics has named Kuldip Johal as the company’s new VP Sales Subscription Broadcasting for Europe, the Middle East, Africa and India.
Johal has spent the last 15 years working for Samsung Electronics, responsible for overseeing the development of the company’s set-top box operator business. Before that he spent four years as Business Development Manager for Pace Micro Technology.
At Universal Electronics, Johal’s responsibilities will include the acquisition of new customers, the development of new product categories and the further acceleration of consumers upgrading to smart remote controls.
Johal says: “I’ve always been passionate about companies that actively strive for innovation and push boundaries, which is why I’m delighted to be joining Universal Electronics. With the emergence of the Internet of Things there is a huge opportunity for this company to further establish itself within the smart technology marketplace, and I’m excited to now have a direct involvement in making this happen.”
Kuldip assumed his new role at Universal Electronics on July 7th and will be reporting into the company’s Managing Director, Menno Koopmans.
