KTC partners with SERAPHIC

KTC has announced the integration of SERAPHIC’s TV browser into its Linux powered smart TVs targeting European markets.

With the browser, viewers have easy and immediate access to thousands of global TV apps from mainstream TV portal providers and can choose any content or programme they like.

Commenting on the development, Ye Wang, CEO of SERAPHIC, said: “The browser solution we provide for KTC’s new products is based on mainstream chipset vendor MStar’s 6586 chipset platform. With deployment of Sraf® Browser, KTC is now able to satisfy today’s consumers’ expectation for easy and effortless access to OTT content within their homes. Meanwhile, it has broadened KTC’s product lines.”

Feng Hu, Software Manager at KTC, added: “We are excited to announce our collaboration with SERAPHIC and deliver new TV products. By leveraging SERAPHIC’s Sraf HTML5 TV Browser with thousands of TV apps pre-integrated, we tremendously accelerate time-to-market and provide an engaging viewing experience for our consumers.

Shanghai-based SERAPHIC provides internet-related software and web-based solutions to TV/video-related terminal devices including smart TVs, set-top boxes, over-the-top devices and game consoles. . Its product range includes Sraf TV Browser for HTML5, HbbTV, Freeview Play, Sraf Lite, YouTube TV, TV Portal, Open Browser as well as Web UI solutions. The company targets at digital TV and consumer electronics markets in Europe, Latin America, Australia and Asia Pacific.

KTC is based in Shenzen and specialises in the manufacture of flat panel display terminal products. It is one of the earliest manufacturers of end products dedicated to display product in China.
