SFR will launch its new series and cinema channel, Altice Studio, on August 22.
In an interview with Le Figaro, general manager, media and entertainment, Alain Weill said the channel would combine both a linear and on demand offer.
The Altice Studio channel will be integrated into fixed and mobile SFR packages as is already the case with SFR Sport and SFR Presse.
Earlier, it was announced that a three-year agreement with NBCUniversal would help build a pipeline of 400 films and series a year including two series debuts per month.
Last year, the company created Altice Studio, which has already co-financed series including Riviera (pictured) with Sky. A dozen more are currently in development.
Weill said the ambition was to produce three French language films and “several” series over the next year.
