The Russian cable operator Akado now finds itself wholly owned by Renova Activ.
According to AKTR and Vedomosti, this follows the acquisition of a 25% stake in the company that was previously held by Yuri Pripachkin, for a fee believed to be between R6.4 billion – R8.5 billion (€93 million – €124 million).
Akado claimed just under 1 million pay-TV subscribers in Moscow as of the end of Q1 this year.
It also had 683,000 broadband subscribers, making it the third largest provider in the city after MGTS and Rostelecom.
In addition, Akado had operations in St Petersburg and Yekayterinburg, as well as a 50% stake in the Belarusian pay-TV provider Kosmos TV.
